Here you will find summaries and screenshots of stuff that was cut out of the Trunks saga when it was televised. I will also put the two filler episodes "Z Warriors Prepare" and "Goku's Ordeal" here, because they don't fit anywhere else.
Only minor cuts and censors in this episode, mostly of Roshi and his magazine. Nothing really important.
CUT - I think they cut this, I can't remember. Just after the title card, you see the cover of Roshi's magazine.
CUT - Just after Krillin does his Kamehameha, there's a shot of the open pages of Roshi's magazine on the ground. EEEWWW!!! Lol.
CUT - You see Roshi's magazine again just before he picks it up off the ground.
NON-CENSOR - That shot during Gohan's dream where he's got tears coming out of his nose. I thought they would censor that, because I thought "EEWW!" first time I saw it. Ah well.
CENSOR - When Mr. Shoe whips Gohan on the head, a trickle of blood runs down the side of his face.
CUT - Half of the two panning shots of Veggie in the shower. No Veggie fans, you don't see his butt. ^_^ It's mostly covered by part of the shower door anyway. This explains why he says, "You can leave now!" so quickly, because there are frames missing around it.
Geez, poor episode. It's filled with cuts and censors... and there isn't even any fighting yet! Most of the cuts and censors are in the second half.
CUT - During Krillin's short flashback of his death in the Frieza saga, they cut the frames that showed his chest expanding before he explodes. Ouch!
CUT/CENSOR - When Frieza clenches his fist, blood trickles between his fingers. I'm not sure if they cut out those frames or just censored them.
NON-CENSOR - Geez, I was convinced they would censor this! During Frieza's flashback, when he's drifting in space, there's a lot of blood and gore around him that I thought would get censored. But it didn't. Ah well, that's a good sign, isn't it?
CUT/CENSOR - After Frieza's flashback, it's supposed to show blood dripping to the ground from his fist, but they replaced it with the shot of Frieza's eye from before the flashback. Clever! They also censored the blood on Frieza's hand again.
CUT - After those blue sword slashes cover the screen and Frieza and his father turn around in shock, you see Frieza's soldiers falling to the ground in little pieces. If you listen closely, the music skips slightly because of this cut.
Not too many cuts or censors here. Although there is one BIG cut. Read on.
CUT/CENSOR - After Trunks scares the wits out of that lone soldier and he backs away, we see Frieza shove his hand through the guy's chest, and then he pulls it out. They replaced most of it with a shot of Trunk's face.
CUT - A MASSIVE cut here. They sliced out a lot of dialogue between Vegeta, Bulma, and Yamcha. It's a shame, you guys missed out on a funny scene. :( Because it was such a big cut, I'll tell you exactly what happened:
(This comes just after Krillin yells, "...While we're all just sitting here doing absolutely nothing!" and slams his fist into the ground.)
Bulma: Hey! Maybe it would help us relax a little if we all sing a song!
Vegeta: SHUT UP! You haven't had one useful thing to say since you got here! Now you stay in the back and keep quiet woman. I don't have time for your stupidity right now!
Bulma: (shocked) I'm... stupid?
Yamcha: Take that back! Bulma isn't stupid!
Bulma: So you think I'm smart, then?
Yamcha: Well, I guess you're as smart as you can be, being a girl and all.
(Bulma grabs Yamcha's ear)
Yamcha: Aaah!!!
Bulma: (angry) I'm not letting go until you say you're sorry!
Yamcha: (grinning) Alright! Alright! I'm sorry!
Gohan starts laughing, followed by Krillin. Soon Puar and Chiaotzu are laughing too.
Bulma: (to Yamcha) Oh, you make me sick!
Krillin stops laughing.
Krillin: This might just be our last chance to laugh, you guys.
Everyone turns solemn. Way to kill the mood, Krillin.
Then the cut version picks up again, as Vegeta runs off to get closer to the battle, and everyone follows.
CENSOR - When King Kai is talking to himself, he yells out, "Kick his butt!" They replaced it with, "Fix him up!" Lol.
CUT - After Trunks brings his sword down and you see a scene of Frieza sort of sliding in half, the two halves actually split apart, and we get a nice view of Frieza in two pieces.
Goku returns! Yay! ^_^ Anyway, there were quite a few cuts in this episode, but they were all in the first half. The second half was pretty much cut-free. Interestingly, I didn't notice any censors at all.
CUT - We actually get to see Trunks bring down his sword. It goes right through Frieza and neatly cuts him in two.
CUT - After Trunks does all those flashy sword movements, we see Frieza... in several pieces!
CUT - A little cut here, just a few frames. Just before Trunks fires that blast of energy, we get to see Frieza in little pieces again.
CUT - After Trunks shoots Kind Cold through the stomach, a ton of blood flies out of his mouth. I thought they would censor it, but I guess they decided to save money and snip it all out instead.
CUT - After King Cold hits the wall of rock, we see him slide down it, trailing a LOT of blood. They cut it so we only see the end of this part, where he's on the ground.
NON-CENSOR - I was interested to see that they didn't censor the blood on the rock behind King Cold. I mean, there was a lot and it was quite noticable.
WWWWHHHHAAAAA?????? No cuts or censors? How boring! Come on, get your act together guys, I need something to report! Or actually... well, you don't HAVE to cut or censor the episodes if you don't want to... I mean, we won't mind... ^_^
NON-CUT - In Trunks's little vision-thingy, whatever the heck it is, they didn't cut the frames where the android/monster-thing attacks Dr. Gero and blood flies everywhere from his head. Yummy. I thought they would have cut this, but they didn't.
And that's all folks! There were no cuts or censors that I could see, but I might have missed something. You never know.
The cuts are back for this episode, but they're very very very minor. I could have missed some though... In the last 5 minutes or so, I got too interested in watching it, and forgot to glance back at my DVD player to see if there were any cuts or censors. ^_^; It was the darn Goku and Chi Chi scene that did it, it was too funny! At the end, I noticed that my DVD player was behind by quite a bit, so I had to rewatch the DVD to find the cuts. I promise, it won't happen again! At least, I hope so... Darn Goku scenes...
NON-CUT - You probably noticed that during Goku's flashback on how he got off of Namek, there's a quick shot of Goku pludging into darkness naked for no apparent reason. Even though you don't actually see anything... erm, "private", it's still kinda scary... And I would have cut it. Sorry Goku, but you need a good excuse to fall through darkness naked. ^_^
CUT - When the scene changes to the Kame house, Krillin isn't the first thing you see. Before him, you see Roshi, laughing pervertedly at his magazines.
CUT - Roshi again. When Krillin's powering up for his Kamehameha, just before Roshi yells out to Krillin, you see him again with his magazines. He grins at the pictures inside and says, "Well, hello there!" (in a sick kind of way)
No cuts and one censor here... but it's a lame one, and it goes throughout the episode. You'll see what I mean.
CENSOR - Dr Brief's cigarette. They censored it throughout the entire episode. And they've been censoring it since they started dubbing Dragonball Z. They probably censored it last episode, too. I can't believe they still bother to censor a tiny little cigarette. -_- From now on, I won't mention any cigarette censors, because they are so numerous. Just remember that almost whenever you see Dr Briefs, his cigarette has been painted over.
This episode has one cut, but that's about it.
CUT - Before Gohan pops out of the water with a fish, there's a little scene with Goku staring at the clouds, muttering to himself. Now WHY did they cut this??? Are clouds evil or something? *looks harder at the clouds* Ooohhh... I think I know why they cut it... the cloud on the left is Roshi, and... lol! Anyway, I'll tell you what Goku said:
Goku: (staring at the clouds) Hmmm, that cloud looks like somebody I know. I'll be, it's him! It's Master Roshi! Ha, except his nose is a bit bigger. And that cloud looks like Piccolo. Eeww, scary!
Then Gohan pops out of the water and the cut version comes back in.
That's it for the Trunks Saga, so why not move on to the Androids Saga?
